THINK BIG by Ben Carson pg 45-80

Summary:

So this chapter begins as Ben Carson's mother tells a story about herself, and what she went through as a child. She really didnt have the childhood she had wanted, because when she was growing up girls were to learn to work around the house, and she quit after the 3th grade, because her mother took her out, so she could learn more about what wives should be doing around the house. So thats how the mother childhood life was. She doesnt want her kids to go through the same thing, she wants them to go to college, and get good grades, so they can make somthing out of themselves. Now, thats it for the mother, lets continue with Ben. Ben had started regonize he was smart in the 5th grade and so did his teachers, but one teacher in particularly, which was he science teacher, regonize his knowledge, and later that year became Ben's mentor, he helped been all the way until 9th, and throughout those years, the teacher had asked Ben to stay back after school, and help him with somethings, and help other student. By the time he had gotten to 9th grade a man by the name of Mr. McCotter, was a biology teacher for him, and he pushed Ben to another level which he new Ben could achieve. This man helped Ben feel better about himself and he also expect Ben to do very well in his espically because Ben's older brother did. Later on in Ben's life he will met other mentors.

Reactionary:

That quote that is there is very powerful to me, because no one can be anything without anybody helping them out, and I get told that by my Uncle everytime I see him. I put that deep inside my heart and keep it there because, I would never be where I am with out my parents, family, and teachers.
