Native Son by Richard Wright Flim part 2

Summary:
1. There was a close up shot were Mr.Dalton was talking to Bigger about the pamphlets. He seemed pretty disgusted him.
2. There was another close up on Bigger, when he was thinking about what was going on in his life at that point in time.
3. Mid shot when Bigger and Mr.Dalton were discussing the fact that he couldn't find his daughter.

Reaction: Most of the important shots in this half were close ups because they really showed the emotions of the characters, and at this point and time the characters were mad, and one was sad about his life which was Bigger. The mid shot that had Bigger and Mr.Dalton in it talking about his daughter was a powerful scene, because it showed the emotion that both character had for each other in this scene. What I mean by that is Mr.Dalton wasn't a fan of Bigger at this time, and Bigger took on the challenge of trying to explain everything to man that was pretty mad at him. So to summary it the second half of the movie showed more emotion, and give the audience a more of connection with movie, based off the struggles Bigger had.

Native Son by Richard Wright Flim part 1

Summary:
1. At the start of the film, it has a long shot where you can see the city of Chicago, and what it has to offer. Such as the skyscapers, and many other buildings that are in the area. It shows you the water fountains, and people walking on the streets, to show how inviting the place looks.
2.At the part where the mother, and the lady that is trying to help bigger find a job, it is a Over the shoulder shot. At that point the lady is saying her good bye's.
3. There is a close of shot were bigger, is saying the job he is getting isnt for him, it is really showing the expressions on his face.
4. There is slight chance in the book and the movie, where it said bigger stormed out the house, in the movie he just walked out slowly.
5. There is another over the shoulder shot when Bigger is walking into Mr.Dalton's office, and he is saying Good Morning.
6. Close up shot on Mr.Dalton, when he is making the decision to hire Bigger or not, you can see the thinking process, by looking at his face.
7. At the point and time where Mr.Dalton's daughter is looking in the mirror, I would consider that a over the shoulder.

Reaction: In the first half of the film I have seen alot of over the shoulder shots, and close up shots, so you can really see the facial expressions on the peoples faces. The shot that to me I liked the most was in the beginning, when there was a long shot of the city.

The Dalton’s decided they need to get a private investigator, to find out if bigger is telling the whole truth. From all the questions that had been asked by the investigator Britten he accuses bigger of being a communist. He made that accusation because bigger had taken the pamphlet. Reaction:
My reaction to that quote before I went on to read anymore was maybe Mr. Dalton, was trying to help bigger. As i started to read again you could tell he was only looking out for his family, because he wanted what was right for them.
